Bio (from Facebook post)
Born and raised in Norman, Patrick Ahern has a passion for his hometown’s success. Over the course of his life, Patrick has enjoyed watching Norman grow by leaps and bounds. He now hopes to serve this vibrant community by representing Ward 3 on the City Council. Patrick’s civic involvement started at age 10, when he spoke in front of the Norman City Council to protest the notorious XYZ Loop that would have bulldozed a great swath of East Norman. He maintained a dedication to community service through his participation in the Boy Scouts of America, eventually earning the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduating from Norman North High School, Patrick reluctantly left town to attend the University of Tulsa. After earning his B.A. in Psychology, he returned home to attend the University of Oklahoma College of Law, attaining his J.D. in 2014. In his legal practice, Patrick has spent his time serving the people of Oklahoma and those unable to defend themselves. His first position out of school at Rawls Law Office involved defending Oklahoma consumers from fraud and predatory lending. Subsequently, Patrick held a position representing the Public Utility Division of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. There he was exposed to the practice of Administrative Law and the act of balancing Oklahoma’s infrastructure and utility rates. Currently, Patrick works as an associate attorney at American Litigation Law Group, a Norman bankruptcy and consumer protection firm.
